Pack a few medicines In case you do get sick while aboard a cruise ship you should all ready have a supply of medicine with you. Never assume that the cruise ships medical facilities will have enough medicine. Take some Pepto-Bismol, a pain reliever, something for motion sickness and if your doctor is willing to prescribe it a short term dosage of oral antibiotics as a preventative measure. If there is a massive case of sickness aboard the ship you can bet that the medical facilities will be overrun. Immaculate hygiene This means being almost obsessive about cleanliness. You should not only wash your hands after using the restroom, but before getting ready to eat and drink and you should probably take a shower after going swimming. Also when you go down for food remember to avoid uncooked foods like salads, eat only things that have been thoroughly heated. Dont go in for exotic foods that youve never tried before as your stomach can have a bad reaction to them. Peel your own fruit and veggies and dont drink the water or use the ice cubes.
